About My Comic
My comic is about a personal
problem I still live with, but learned to accept! In my comic, I pay homage to
Alison Bechdel's Fun Home using two of her techniques she uses to write her
comic. My frames 5-7, where my character thinks one thing and says another,
pays homage to Bechdel’s frame on page 76. This frame shows her character
saying one thing while the readers know through the frame’s depiction, that the
character is obviously lying. In addition, my comic shows another technique
Bechdel uses on page 86 of Fun Home. These two frames in Fun Home shows two
different angles of a single setting that gives the reader two very different
perspectives. In my comic, I use the same technique on frames 9 and 10.
